I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
You can also learn how to not be codependent through this too. Al-Anon is a good place to start. If you really want to help him, help him how to help himself. Not much more you can do. It has to be his choice and he has to be willing to admit he has a problem if he hasn't done so yet.
Just don't be his doormat!
God bless you for loving your friend!
If you mean over the phone, which I think you must do, its another question.
Me, well I do not think that anybody should have to put up with any abusive harm whether physical or mental, verbal abuse can be as damaging as physical abuse, sometimes even more so.
If your scared of what might happen to him if you do not keep in touch, it may be that he is using his abuse to keep you calling him.
It's tough and it's hard to cut someone off, but sometimes we must be cruel to be kind.
Try cutting down your contact with this person, say no contact for a week, then if there abuse gets worse, I would say that they are trying to manipulate you with fear, leaving their crap on your doorstep, which you do not need.
If this continues Call a womens help line for physically abused women, as they also deal with verbal and mental abuse, which I have said is as bad.
The very fact that you are here sharing, means that your not happy with what is happening, you know its not right, so seek help and advice, don't just put up with it.
His/Her problems are not yours, whatever you may think
