i've always heard at meetings and from my sponsor that if we work the program we learn to love ourselves. this is such a foreign idea to me. i just celebrated 2 years on december 29th and it is a struggle most days to even like myself. actually a lot of the time i can't even believe how hard i am on myself and how critical i can be. i have worked the steps and try to practice the principles daily but there is something i am not getting when it comes to this self-love, self-esteem thing. is it my speiritual connection? the most spiritually-connected people i know seem the happiest w/ themselves and any given situation... what am i missing and is this ever going to get better?
