Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I am new to recovery. I went to rehab and stayed clean for 90 days. Then I fell out for a month (weekend binges) but now have 30 days. I am looking for some feedback on how to overpower my negative thinking. I am laid up with a broken ankle and don't get out to meeting as much as I would like, but I do have a ride to one tonight, thanks to a new friend in the fellowship. So I ask you all for some insight on fighting these negative thoughts about drinking, self-esteem, self-worth and so on.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I think you'll find that you are stronger than you thought.Being new to a sober way of life is difficult at best.Only because drinking was the only way we knew how to deal with our personality, our self esteem, and our lack of power dealing with life in general. You have the power to change and that all important 1st step is realizing that you do have a problem. It's hard to fix something when you fail to recognize the problem.Getting sober has got to be the most important thing in your life. It's got to be more important than your family, friends and and your way of life. You have a good head start. You'll soon be able to see the changes God has in store for you if you just stay sober.Believe that God has a plan for you and he is in charge. He won't give you more than you can handle.Stay strong. I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
