Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

They have a homeless shelter here that I walk by every day. I was walking along there last night and was listening to the mayhem, fighting, cursing and God knows what else.
I was on my way to a meeting, a friend of mine was taking a 17 year cake. As a matter of fact, a bunch of people that I first sobered up with are taking 15-20 year cakes. Two things happened last night. I realized the reality of my predicament.
I AM ONE DRINK AWAY FROM THAT AWFULL PLACE! More importantly, I watched my friend who I know struggled with this program, radiant and alive in her skin, take her cake. What hope that gave me. I too, one day at a time, can have a new life. The struggle right now is hard but nothing I ever loved came easy to me. I'm almost at my 90 day milestone, and I have hope. As long as I don't drink and do what is suggested I can be free.
I'm an alcoholic.
My problem is Marina, Thanks for my sobriety!

we are all one drink away from a drunk Marina. we are our own worst enemies but can be our own best friend. get a sponsor and work the steps. the steps is the secret. No matter how much we know it Will Not keep us sober. It is what we do. Just as the big book says and now we launched into a vigorous course of action. this is not a thinking program it is a doing program. Steps is a verb and that means action.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
