Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

What if your occupation is one where you are put on a moral pedestal or maybe moral is the wrong word, a job that requires you to be not associated with drugs or alcohol at all (well most jobs would frown upon coming to work drunk) but some jobs require you to be above and beyond that Ex: Police officers in one county in Florida have required all deputies to be completely tobbaco free(and they do random testing)and they cannot drink 48 hours before their shift. What if they came to a meeting and said something like "last night I had a relapse and drank 2 beers" and someone in the group knew they were a cop and reported them. Some school districts can reprimand teachers if they are caught in a bar and some parents would make a huge stink if they found out little Jimmy's teacher is an alcoholic.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
That is why it is advisable to share the specifics with a trusted sponsor and not in an open meeting. I have approached ppl after meetings and reminded them of that (ie: someone admitted to welfare fraud in a meeting, I felt the need to remind him that a meeting is not the place to share that).
I was at a woman's mtg once where a very nervous woman was there sharing it was here first f2f, but she was doing online AA. This gal was paranoid! I did not immediately recognize her, but turns out she was a public figure in the justice system. Her concerns were understandable. She did not return and I always wonder when I see her on TV.....
Not sure about the legality of some of those policies, but keep drinking and everyone knows, even if you think they don't. Trust me, the price paid for being seen at an AA meeting is not as high as you think compared to continuing drinking and not getting help. And if no one knows either way? One offers a better life the other, death-fast or slow.
