Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Last night when I googled alcoholism and signed up here.I was thinking about my habit that starts on Thursday and goes till Sunday. After class I drove passed the store, so that is a start. My will has to keep me from getting back in my car now. If I commit to it in cyberspace can I do it.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My last drunk was almost 14 yeasr ago. I called AA on there Hotline. I told them how I felt what I had done and where I was right then.
It took me 4 more months to get into the program. But I stayed Sober alone for those 4 months.
I was very ill and I think that I would recomend you going to a meeting that has some winners with long term SObriety in it. That understands the disease and that can give you the SUpport that you need right now.
It is my suggestion along with OW, that you get to as many meetings as you can right away.
It will help you with the time, the withdrawals, plus you can be around others that have gone before you.
You'll have a net work of friends that can call you and you can call.
I also go to Church becasue of my LOVE for GOD. Have you thought about it?
ANyway, I am inteested in you and your well being. Keep me posted on How you ARE?
Thanks, Tamar
Here is a quote from the AA basic text ( Big Book of AA)...
"While our literature has preserved the integrity of the A.A. message, sweeping changes in society as a whole are reflected in new customs and practices within the Fellowship. Taking advantage of technological advances, for example, A.A. members with computers can participate in meetings online, sharing with fellow alcoholics across the country or around the world. In any meeting, anywhere, A.A.s share experience, strength, and hope with each other, in order to stay sober and help other alcoholics. Modem-to-modem or face-to-face, A.A.s speak the language of the heart in all its power and simplicity."
Blue came on here looking for help.. and a brand new person, Moregainev, showed how simple this deal really is and followed the spirit of 12 stepping and she is only one week into this deal..
I am very proud of the two of you and hope we may be able to help either of you on your new journey together in recovering from this insidious disease.
God bless and you made my day.
