Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Since its time for Halloween, the usual movie trailors about vampires have captured my attention - prompting me to draw a kind of parallel between vampirism and alcoholism. I'm sure Bram Stoker had a similar experience.
So, see the humor in the relationship, and try not to take it personally if you are a struggling alcoholic. I don't mean any harm.
Alcoholism is like vampirism because:
Vampires/alcoholics are "draining"
They sleep all day, come out at night
They bring a sense of dread, showing up when you least expect them, wreaking havoc and torment
They seem "undead", (not alive)
They look hellish
They provoke the "Dr. Van Helsing" mentality in some people
They use manipulative powers to get what they want
They sometimes turn others into vampires
The only way to kill them is a stake through the heart (last straw for the alcoholic, recovery, self-redemption, etc.)
Not saying alcoholics are monsters, but victims of a monstrous disease.
Happy Halloween, don't eat too much candy!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
