Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

We have a man in our meeting who is a Barrister. In Australia, like in the UK, lawyers are split into two levels, Solicitors and Barristers. Barristers are the ones who act in the courts up to the highest courts in the Land.
This man will die if he has another drink. His liver function is down to 10%. He is Yellow. He is barely walking and walks at a shiffle with his head down.
He is trying, he is really trying to get AA. I can see he's really trying and he knows he's at death's door. But I can also see that he sees that people in the meeting really do give a shit about him, really do care.
When I saw him last week, I thought he had busted, he looked so bad compared to the previous meeting, but it was just a dip in his poor body trying to re-constitute itself.
I love him. I simply love him. I know so little about him but I can see that he is simply a sick and siffering alcoholic, right at the edge. I pray for him.
This disease simply does not discimminate on the basis of intelligence, education, wealth or anything else. But the program of AA does not discimminate either. All welcome.

It will attack anyone at any time. I'll pray for your Barrister too. God bless. Hugs, Lee
I've seen miracles happen through AA, though. I've seen people who were working so hard to kill themselves suddenly 'get' the message AA offers and then begin to work hard to live and to heal themelves.
I wish the Barrister the very best and hope that he can beat the monster.
I've seen people who truly looked like they were dieing but coming out of that condition to live good lives. My prayers are with your friend.
