Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I am ashamed to tell you that I failed. I am drinking again. No surprise.
Here's my profound (ha ha) question: Where is the nice clear-cut "road map" for people who are quitting? I mean, "When you are tempted, here's what you do..."
I feel like whenever it takes me, it just takes me. All the journaling, meetings, bla, bla, bla, mean nothing, when IT decides to do it.
I believe (you shouldn't argue) that I am morally weak and selfish and immature and a huge dumbass.
And thank you for all your support, and I wish I could send you each a huge coupon to the best buffet in your town.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Have you tried AA? If you're willing, I'd suggest 90 meetings in 90 days, that has multiple benefits. It gets you out there meeting other recovering drunks, gets you acquainted with a lot of meetings, saturates your mind with the tools for when it's about to take you. Recovery is one day at a time and there is no 'fast-forward' button to the gifts of sobriety. I'm being sincere, not sarcastic.
TIME...This I Must Earn. The journey of a million miles starts with the first step.
By the grace of the powers that be, and me, I haven't had to drink for a bit longer than that now. We only do this 24 hours at a time, Keep coming back!

When I became mangled enough is when I decided I would resolve my problems. The road is in the book, but I have to choose to follow it.
