Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Done it myself, and as a drunk, could not see what the big fuss was all about, but now in recovery I know.
Sometimes we need a wake up call, sometimes our Higher Power works in mysterious ways.
Take this as a wake up call, take what ever punishment you receive as a wake up call, stop looking at the negatives the only person hurt this time is you (thank god).
I can see that you have lots of issues to deal with, and my heart goes out to you.
Treat this positvly, go to a rehab progran as you have suggested, when we have problems to sort out, the first thing we must take away is the booze, to give the mind have a chance to get well.
Believe me been there
daniabbot, hit the nail on the Head, Learn from your mistakes, don't just add this mistake to your long list of problems, that is noot the way to get well

A DUI as it is known here in my state carries very heavy penalties. Punishment is based on several factors and what you blow has a lot to do with it. I'm sure you'll have to pay a fine and go to alcoholic awareness classes and maybe a treatment program, you blow high.
I was DUI in 2005, had mandatory out patient treatment, mandatory AA meetings. Had to attend a victims impact panel meeting and had to pay for a breathalyzer installed in my car for six months and had to pay a fine. I was also on house arrest for 18 days.
I blow very high and that was my first DUI. I suggest never to drink and drive again.
They dont play. I have been blessed not to harm another. Just learn from it , youll be OK
Yesterday evening at 7pm,in Calgary, Alberta - a cement truck rear ended a vehicle carrying a family. Mother, Father, Son, age 16 mths, daughter age 6, and daughter age 9 were all killed.
The driver of the truck was drunk. He has been charged with a DUI, five count of vehicular homicide and will certainly face a lifetime of guilt and remorse.
Thank your higher power for being caught. The cost of the fines are nothing to the toll of human grief and loss had you killed someone.

first time offense..

Hey, how old is this thread anyway? Trickey is on it and we've not heard from him since he lost his lighter and went to Chicago!
