One of the newguys asked me that the other day and I had to laugh. I asked him what makes you think theres a difference? He said I don't know what to think sometimes, I know what all the words mean by themselves but when they are all together in a sentence I find I don't know squat. We dug out my dictionary and looked up character, defect, and then shortcoming which stated lacking of such as character-- defect. He said they are both the same, yes I replied. He said why two steps?? I explained to him that step six was identifying your character defects and why you have them. I told him a few of mine which are numerous such as selfishness, manipulation, false pride, anger, judgemental etc..........I then told him step seven was working on getting rid of or tempering those character defects. by asking your higher power to help you. He asked if it worked for me. I related that I am working on them everyday and I may be working the rest of my life to rid myself of them. They just don't leave he asked?? No you have to do the footwork and God is with you to help you. He said man am I confused. how do you get rid of them???? I told him when you recognise that a defect is popping up, try doing the opposite of the defect. It's that simple? no not at all but it's a good place to start. He then asked how many character defects I have. I smiled at him and said all of them.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
