Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

My mother last year had a very serious operation and nearly died. I actually drove her to the hospital as she was choking in the car. Thanks to the local police, they resusicated her and she ended up in intensive care for about 2 months. Thanks be to God she is now living a fairly active life at 70.
The subsequence was I started drinking heavily after her return from hospital and it has continued to this day. Much to the effect that I have been off sick from work for the last 12 weeks from work and now I'm drinking more for fear of loosing my job. The problem is I don't want to go back to my place iof work and as a subsequence, I numb the feelings by drinking daily.
Any help would be much appreciated .........

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
right ,this is how i did it. I chose an aa group that i was confortable with, then listened hard for a few weeks, i chose my sponsor as a person whos ideas i agreed with, shes got a lot of years sober too, having said that ive just handed her my step 4 and shes asked me if i mind having another group member involved as she doesnt think after about 10 years sober that she has enough experiance to do it alone!! thats what you call humility. Ask the person your considering to give you their phone number, and then talk to them, if they are the right person i think you will know Some one said to me last week"God wont clean youre shoes for you" in other words hes there to help but you have to do the work. why dont you go to aa today or ring one of the member now? its a begining isnt it, be brave... (sorry about the spelling, the words come from my heart and spelling isnt my forte.
