Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Alcoholism is a chronic, relapsing disease. CHRONIC RELAPSING. So you relapsed. A lot of alcoholism experts consider this to be, for a lot of people, almost an inevitable occurence (and hence focus on what they call risk minimization, rather than what may be an unrealistic expectation of someone in recovery never, ever, ever slipping or relapsing). What you need to focus on now is getting back into your recovery mode.
Just think where you would be if you hadn't had the five years sober--hard to say, but likely much worse off at this point in your life, right?
Good Luck
We do sadly fall over, and we must learn from this, feeling bad about yourself is typical, I was so busy beating myself up when it happened to me I just drank more, in the end I sought help and I am now looking forward to my second anniversary (this time), in the past 5 years I have been sober for 4, to me that makes me a success and not a failure.
I know its hard, put pick yourself back up, brush your self down and get what help and support you can, and maybe you should look for a new sponsor.
We have a diesease and only we tend to learn this the hard way, good luck on your journey
