How do we in sobriety, keep our friends? I can't be around alcohol, yet I don't feel I have the right to ask them not to drink, After all I'm the one who took it to the next level, not them. How do you keep friends that drink, even if it's not going to a place to drink like a bar, you go out w/ them shopping/lunch= alcohol...should we really ask others to change their ways just b/c we can live the way they do? Do we need to get all new sober friends, how is that fair to the ones who try to support us. We get sober and then say yeah ty..but I can be around drinkers?Make sense?I don't want to loose my friends/family,yet I can't be around them socially either.
