Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I just realized I am definitely an Alcoholic.
The reason I know this is because all of my romantic relationships seem to be centered around alcohol. I will say things while I am drinking and the next day I regret it. Mainly telling someone that I love them. I also seem to agree with everything while I am drinking even though I know that had I been sober I would not. This always leads to painful breakups and they are beginning to send me into a deep depression. I know that if I cannot stop drinking my chances of finding a true life partner is basically zero. I plan on going to an AA meeting as soon as I can find one close that fits my schedule. I have heard wonderful things about AA and I want to find a sponsor as soon as possible. As for now I have been sober for 3 days. As they say "one day at a time". Amen

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It's 13 years later, I'm married to a man who has not had a drink in 17 years, we have 2 beautiful children. Finding someone who doesn't drink isn't as hard as we would think it would be (while drinking).
First things first, good luck finding an AA meeting. I suggest you raise your hand and share that you're new, you'll be approached by good people after the meeting.
I need to concentrate on healing and staying as far away from drinking as possible. Only then can I begin to live a life of purpose and meaning.
Thank you so much
Congrats on your 3 days, and hey I agree with others, concenytrate on you for a while, concentrate on sobriety, the good things will follow.
Good luck - trickey
You are definately heading in the right direction. Keep in mind that the lower power does not want you to quit drinking and will do everything he can to keep you from getting sober. Get to AA....get a sponsor....work the steps...THEN you will be ready to love a woman the way that God would have you love her.
