Today is my one year sober aniversary - or it will be for another 20 minutes!!
Got back from Arizona last night a little before midnight. I can't imagine having any more fun in 8 short days! It went really fast, but we certainly squeezed in alot. The 6 hour road trip to see my niece in Los Angeles was awesome. We did that the morning after I got to Mesa, so my sister, Gail, and I just gabbed the whole trip. The scenery was awesome with the mountains and desert. Temps in the 80's, sunny and gorgeous! My niece, Britany, the big LA attorney at 28 years old, had to work the next day, so Gail and I hit Venice Beach and walked down the boardwalk to the Santa Monica Pier. A bit chilly to swim, but fabulous for walking the beach. Got to meet Brit's new BF of just a couple of months, but she seems pretty serious. Usually she tells me a guy has potential. This one she said "He's pretty fabulous, Aunt Jan!" He's a fireman, has his realtor's license and owns homes in AZ and CA. He best be good to her, cuz she deserves it. Britney and Brian - awwwwwwwww.
We stayed with Brit for 2 nights in her tiny $1,000 a month 1 bedroom apartment! Then it was back to Mesa and Gails house. Her husband drives over the road for UPS, so he was hardly at home and if he was he was sleeping. We didn't get back in her truck for the next four days. We rode bicycles or walked everywhere we went. Her house is beautiful, it abuts a golf resort on a little cul de sac so the view is great from both front and back yard (or what you call a yard out there - lol). But a fifteen minute walk to just about anything you could think of. Did I mention what a great time I had? We talked alot about me moving out there. It's pretty much just a matter of when. I had planned to stay in Ohio till my parents were gone, but I'm not sure I should wait. Geez, life's too short.
Sorry, I've read some posts since I've been home, but just haven't jumped in with replies yet. I know tomorrow's gonna be a day from hell at work with being gone all week. Just thought I'd check in and let ya all know I'm back. I so needed the break, and I'm ready to get my ass in gear with some goals I've set for myself that I've been lagging on.
I think I'm still on Arizona or California time or something, cuz it's getting late and I'm wide awake!
One year alcohol free! Not rubbing salt in anyones wounds, but I can't believe it's gone so fast! I made a decision and stuck with it. For once in my life my stubbornness has paid off! No slips, trips, blips or relapses! Yay me! Thank you, God.
Looking forward to catching up with you all soon!

A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
