hi - i just joined your group. my name is dan. I don't know alot about this, but i know me. I just don't feel rigid rules work for everyone. i finally reached out for help 17 days ago. i can't say why. it just seemed right. I am not an everyday drinker, but a binge dog. i don't crave or even want to drink everyday, but every couple of weeks it seemed like i was on a nonstop party for 2 days. just couldn't see going on like that. i have been overdrinking for 39 of my 51 years. the expected void seems daunting. truly feel embarrased by the positon i find myself. i went to a doctor and had him prescribe antabuse for me. i have no experience with this, but it took away any decision whether to have that drink or not. seems to be a good tool. I have heard some scary stories about unexpected and violent accidental reactions from vinegar, pickles, salad dressing, sauces, etc. are these for real? does anyone have experience with antabuse they can relate? thanks for listening.
