Yes, I am an adoptee. 44 years. I never thought about searching really. I have two brothers who were also adopted so none of us are related by blood (and sometimes that is a really good thing). A couple of years ago my brother found out that he is diabetic. And that got me thinking. I'm no spring chicken.... in fact I'm at the age when different medical conditions start showing their ugly faces. I know that several states, starting with Oregon, have opened their adoption records making it easier for everyone to find the information they need/want. I was born in California and don't know if they have opened their records or how to find out the information that I'm looking for. I know that giving a child to adoption is very painful so I want to respect that, but the other part of me is wondering if I have any right to family medical information and if so, how to get it. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
