My Half BrotherThat Was Adopted Out!!

Hi, my half brother was adopted out and found my mom. My mom and I do not get along but she treats him like he is the best. I also think she is trying to make up for what she missed out with him. He is nice but I told him on the net, last year that I grew up in an abusive home. I went into details and he got mad at me. He had to call my mom and I do not know what he said to her. I talked to him on the phone Christmas and he does not want anything to do with me. :(

Mom always has a halo when you first find her. He'll grow up, eventually. Try not to let it bother you.

maybe she is also trying to make up for what she did to you. maybe she will crack for just a moment and show him her true colors someday. maybe not.

either way. i know this invalidation hurts deeply. but.

you know what you know. and you should deal with it, and her, and him in the manner that best supports your own well being now and in the future.

sorry to be blunt but it sounds like you didn't have anyone to advise you as to the best way to approach this situation and it wasn't handled in a delicate way. I am not sure how you can mend the bridges with your brother.Being adopted and finding your birth family causes a lot of diferent emotions and I dont know how your brother handled the news that was just blurted out to him. Of course he would ring your mom.He may not want to accept that is true and brings up a whole new lot of issues for him to deal with.I really hope for you that he is able to overcome this but it may take time. Don't blame yourself as we are all new to these situations and there is no manual to follow and no perfect way to deal with all the issues.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
