ADHD Community Group
Would love to meet other parents with children who have adhd or add! I would love to have others to talk to, who understand what we go through on daily basis!

hello I am new to the whole support group thing and I am a mother of 3 children and my oldest son is the one that seems to be breaking my heart the most. He has ADHD and a short temper to boot. He is a very talented Clarient player and loves art and woodworking. He also enjoys reading very much. We just have a big problem with him failing all his classes and not turning in any of his work. The teachers all say they know he knows this stuff and has all the answers in class but he doesn't do or turn in his assignments to get the credit he deserves. He doesn't seem to care that he is failing . We finally even though it breaks my heart like I never thought it would but we had to hold him back and we are not letting him go out for band next year as our agrement on he has to have passing grades to be in band. I hate doing this to him but I honestly don't see any choice. My husband and I have tried everything and so has the school and even his grandparents....I just don't know what else to do. I feel so helpless. Can anyone out there help or that maybe is or has gone through this have any suggestions?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
My son also doesn't care about his school work, my fiance ahas even given him some big time incentives to get him motivated but nothing seems to work. But oddly enough he loves school. He was suspended from school twice this year and almost had a major heart attack from anxiety because he couldn't go. He ended up both times jumping on the school bus and going to school.
I am happy to hear your child is into stuff and sticks with it. My son is into sports but quits as soon as he starts. They say that is common but it is costly and annoying!
I love my son dearly and thats what keeps me going. I do realize now he can't help himself but it doesn't make it easier at times either.
