Does anyone out there take their ADHD child to weekly or monthly therapy sessions? My son is 11, and his doctor has recommended that we start weekly therapy sessions to "talk" about his issues. My son refuses to admit that there is anything wrong. To a therapist, or anyone else. He can't vocalize what he is feeling. He just states over and over again that he doesn't know why. I am afraid that as he gets older he will do worse actions. He lies, cheats, steals, hoards food, and has lied about child abuse. I am at an end. We have been to 12 doctors in the past, and nothing changes. He is currently on 54 mil of Concerta, but that only helps with focus. Has anyone tried hypnotherapy? He displays horrific behavior every May, October, and December. It is like clockwork. I have been referred to yet another therapist, but am hesitant to go. We have spent over $30,000, and I don't want the same situation, only a different doctor. Any ideas...all are welcomed and appreciated! Thank you!
