I always thought that medication should be the absolute last resort, only used when there really is no other way to control behaviors or lead a normal life. I think this is true for anyone, but especially for children. It's hard enough to figure out who you are and what you like, but when you are taking medications, especially those like anti psychotics, you feel like you flip from one personality to another, and instead of figuring out if they like blue more than red, a kid has to try and figure out which of those two personalities is the real them, and whether or not they like what the medicines do to them.
All of that, plus the physiological damages done on their little developing brains and bodies.. you would think doctors would avoid medications like that altogether unless there was absolutely no other way...
