hi everyone im new here because just today i was called into my 3 year old sons pre-school, The manager offered me help from a team called 'scallywags', which is an organisation to help teachers and parents cope with disfunctional behaviour. I have been upset all day because it is very difficult to get my son to do as he is told, in class he wont sit among the other children and be orderly. I know my parenting is not to blame as i have a 4 year old daughter who is doing exceptionally well in primary school. I have looked up about add and my son seems to have the symptoms, im worried about the ilness for my baby and would like as much insight to it as possible please many thanx

Three years old is much too young to be diagnosed. Work with the 'scalleywags' with him behaviour and really encourage positive reinforcement when he is behaving appropriately. If the behavior gets worse and becomes a major problem by the time he turns 5 or 6, talk to your doctor and/or pediatritian about his troublesome behavior and go from there. But for now, let him learn and absorb information by moving, encourage him to interact with other children and positively reinforce him when he does.

I totally agree with the positive reinforcement, plus i would also start instilling the "1 - 2 - 3 magic", or the "social skills" program as my son, and my daughter learned both those programs starting when they were 2 1/2 - 3...good luck to you and if you need to talk let me know!

first of all my son got diagnosed at 4,but we knew when he was 2 yrs old,if u give him cold medicine does it make him hyper and go bizerk, well i would consider going to doc at almost 5 yrs and also kids have differant personalitys so he is neva gonna be like yo other kid cause he isnt yo other kid, and dont worry if he has adhd then its treatable go with an 18mg concerta first, dont let them talk u into adderall before age 8 it will have extremely bad side effects but concerta has worked wonders 4 my son,he was put on adderall at 4 then he started flipping out having locked muscles couldnt think and was very forgetful,so concerta is best option at a young age if they suggest meds, also adhd is concidered a disability so if he gets diagnosed he will get special attention and have an extra teacher to give him one on one attention have an isp done, dont know what it means but they test yo kid on everything he should know and do,the school will know what it is,then they will give him help in areas hes lacking,oh and when on meds he will get addicted to video games if he isnt already, my son could beat playstation games at 18 mths because it kept his mind busy also yo son may have walked very early and talked very early and learned how to "take care of himself" early because there brain is constantly thinking, hope i helped and dont worry he will most likely grow out of it by 11,get him lowered and lowered on meds till he takes none by 12 or it may cause a meth/coke problem cause adderall and concerta is the same thing as meth and coke just legal, wanna test one of his pills you will have yo house spotless, lol

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
