concentration apart of add/adhd? I have been the only one in my family not to go through testing, but it would be odd if i was the only one who didnt have anything.
I am not hyper all the time but i go through bouts (my mind buzzes, im inspired, passionate etc) so this COULD be bipolar. but aside of that I have been a daydreamer all my life and found it hard to concentrate on subjects at school ( even ones i enjoy) for too long without getting bored easily or start chatting to other people in the class/acting out deliberately.
I do crave attention, but not in a negative way - i like to speak out and be the funniest and if i dont get noticed i feel abondoned or unwanted. I wanted to know whether being able to daydream and seeing moving pictures in your mind (not in detail but still there), and always being on cloud nine is apart of this?
any help, support or comments please im trying to find out who I am.
thankyou

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
If it runs in your family then I definetly suggest that you talk to your doc and ask to get evaulated. ADHD is proven to be biologically genetic, though research and studies cannot prove why.
Hyperactivity is not always associated with ADHD as it has been in the past. Instead, there are 3 subtypes of the disorder; Predominantly Inattentive, Predominantly Hyperactive/Impulsive and Combined Type. In your case -and stats show in most female cases as well, that it sounds like you may have some attentional problems that could be relation to the Predominantly Innatentive type of ADHD.
However, I am no medical professional and have no experience in diagnosis. So I suggest you speak with your docter about your symptoms and go from there. Especially since the indicators for Bi-Polar and ADHD and very similiar, it takes a psychologist/psychiatrist who is experienced in the feild of Attention Disorders to be able to distinguish between the two, because if one or the other is over looked, the treatment for either one can have harmful effects on the other if the wrong diagnosis is made.
So speak to your doc. Best advice I can give.
