at my grandsons elementary school observing in the classroom. While he did move about in his desk, take his shoes off and pick up and play with his sissors a few times, I did not see any really bad behavior on his part. I can see that the teacher might have a hard time with him because there are others in the class she has to get on to as well. Others call out answers and he feeds off their energy. Some people don't beleive me that other's energy can affect him but it does. I followed to art and he was fine, one of the best behaved. I followed to snack, fine too. I followed to P.E. and he was one of the better acting kids in the class.Even able to sit down and watch a video. At least 7 other kid were up running around the gym not following directions and not staying in a time out situation. The line to and from the gym unnerved me. There were two lines on the sidewalk at all times. Sometimes it was meeting another class in a higher grade and sometimes it was other classes going to the same place. Teachers where in the front. Kids were able to reach out and touch each other, kids jumped in puddles, threw their hats etc. I can surely see how it could make him "out of control."
But now I know his disciple problem in not the way I handle him but the way they do and the way they allow others to interact with him.
I could point out several who had ADHD and worse. It made me feel better because I was under the impression that I was raising the next axe murder or something.

Hey, you gave me a great idea. I keep getting conflicting reports from teachers as well. One week, Oh, Dylan's just doing faboulous, he's great. The next week they treat us like we are the scum of the earth. Granted, we live in a title one district and one of the poorest neighborhoods but we are NOT and have never been irresponsible. They called CPS on me last year for my son's cat who he aggrevated scratching him on the face. They threatened to take my son away. I fought CPS saying they are going overboard and they have investigated numerous false reports, I'm being harrassed and told them I'll get legal aide or pre-paid legal to sue them because I can prove it. They apologized and haven't been back. I met a good friend of my from cafemom (we've been talking for about 6-7 months) met at Java City (our local coffee shop) and talked up a storm. The place didn't have a clock so, I was a whole 14 minutes late. I've been late one other time at 10 minutes. They called my house and my SIL saying Dylan(my ADHD) child was in tears and waiting on me forever and I just didn't feel like coming. Of course, my SIL who is also my one of my best friends knew better. She said I will find her and get her there. Did you try her cell? They said no, we don't have it. My SIL said she had it and would call me. She called them back and I had already picked up my son and left. I apologized for being late and they were hateful and said, "You need to be on time all the time and especially on Fridays." I said, "I am a human being and do make mistakes once in a blue moon, YOU NEED to grow a new attitude." I took my son who was not in tears home. I do not like the way the government has school set up. For those kids who are challenged enough to be in special ed, they have TAKS set them up to fail and blame teachers and parents. I'm sick to death of it. My principal says we need to storm the government, your state legislature to be exact on the unfair treatment. The school counsellor said she would help me. I am a member of our PTA just so these kids have an advocate and a voice. Then, I see a note from his regular (not special ed) teacher that Dylan is not brining his homework back to school. He had that problem last year. He would do it, I make him and take it back, stick in his desk and forget to turn it in. Is this something a normal child would do? Sure. Do they let them slide? sure but not my son. I'm so tired of teachers labelling and bullying our kids. It is time to take action. Society needs and attitude adjustment and I for one am fixing to give it to them. I'm not just venting either. I'm reporting everything I know to my son's counsellor to have it documented. If I find out that they are violating the Disability Act, I will sue and teach them a lesson for sure. I want to see what he is doing. I don't mind dragging his little brother to school and watching all day if that is what it takes. I'm going to do a surprise visit too that way noone can change their behavior that day. Our principal is awesome. I'm just not impressed w/4th grade regular ed teachers when it comes to my son. He's not in their class most of the time. He's almost all special ed. His special ed teacher is not complaining as far as I am aware.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
