I don't know why I didn't notice before but recently I have come to the realization that without medication my daughter (she just turned 7) truly has a disability. She can't do much without me following her to make sure she completes each task (mornings are awful at our house). She can't stop talking long enough to listen, when you talk to her she looks through you, and has done some scary things, like ran in front of cars and followed strangers because she was intrigued by them. The problem is that I feel like such an awful parent because I get sooo frustrated with her when her meds haven't taken effect yet or her meds have worn off. How does everyone else cope?
