I do not want to medicate again, due to side effects. I have a meeting at the school ARD meeting, The last four weeks have been hell! We have been trying everything. I am even fighting with my dear boyfriend, who refuses to even consider that my son is ADHD. I have been dealing with son's probs since kindegarten, he is now 10. Not sure anymore what to suggest to school, they are great. Teacher is really trying to help, at least I think she is. I will Know more tomorrow. Not sure if I should remedicate, or suggest an aide, any help will be appreciated.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Have you tried several different meds? Has he been tested for ADHD outside of the school by a Psch.? I went thru everything you described from kindergarten to 5th grade with my son and the school, my Ex (who STILL refuses to accept the ADHD diagnosis), the teachers, his grandparents, etc. I can totally relate to your frustration. However, you are his MOM. Only you can decide what is best for him. Does he just need help focusing and keeping still at school?
Does he need any special accomedations in the classroom? Ask for specifics from the teacher. Then consult your Peditrician before you make a decision about the meds. Good Luck!
PS-there are several new ADHD meds out-like the patch, that have fewer side effects than the pills...
P.S. Does anyone know what Extended School Year services are? It was checked on the notice for this meeting. I was just wondering
