My Son is 26 mos old, he has had a developmental delay. He failed his 12 month and 18 month autism testing then at 24 mos he passed barely but failed the communication portion. My son has little to no eye contact, does not respond to his name often, he ignores everything going on around him, even a loud noise if he is in grossed in a toy. He talks in one word phrases and he normally leads me to what he wants instead of asking. It is possible he is autistic but minimally or on the spectrum which includes ADD. I am wondering if parents who now know their child is ADD, ever saw any early signs before school age. Wondering if the child just didn't seem right or if the diagnosis of ADD was just something that was related to the child once they were in a school setting. I need to know early how to help my poor baby. I cherish every tiny second of eye contact he gives me. Sad mommy.
