Help! I need suggestions quick for consequences the teacher can use when grandson's behavior is out of control. Teachers suggestions are time out, taking away computer time, art and music time or library time. Art and music and computer time are the only parts of school he enjoys so I sort of worry about taking those away. I am leaning toward the time out. What do you think?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Further expalanation on taking away the tickets if they do take them away he will give up and they need to be flexable in the begining with the time factor maybe every half an hour...even if he has a horrible or rough morning up till half an hour before home he shoulfd be able to keep trying to earn that one ticket ....remember to get them to look for the small things...and no bribery if you.....u will get ....encouragment yesbut....Danielle. :)
Occasionally will hit another child. I think he is just playing around when he hits not meaning to harm but teacher says it does not matter his motive. He knows better. He is getting some postive notes but still alot of negative. I was again told today that after P.E. he was "out of control" and that time out did not work.
Alot of his worse behavior is after P.E. or library. Any suggestions?
Perhaps they need to allow your grandson some "free" time every hour or two, to expel some energy, TALK, de-stress. Does he have an IEP?
With my son at school if he shows good behavior during set times, they have a school counselor come get him during a certain time of the day to take him outside or in the pe gym and let him run around. Just to get that energy out. They also take him im the mornings out with the 1st graders for their brain developement skills they do in the school gym. Exercises like walk through a rope ladder on the floor, twirling their arms in a circular motion....this way it gets his brain working and focusing.....so far...it seems to help a LITTLE! In his classroom they have also marked off his desk on the floor with making tape. He can't go outside that box. He can stand at his desk to do his work as long as he gets it done. They call the box on the floor a batters box since he likes baseball. Maybe associate the things he likes with certain behaviors. My son loves sports, so they incorporate sports with their means of helping him. Its only been in effect for less then a month so hopefully it will help.
