I have a 11 yr old daughter that has been diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5, My ex-husband and his wife at the time waited to put her on meds( which I too agreed with), I didn't want her medicated if it wasn't needed.... Well to make a long story short I was diagnosed with Bipolar I in 2003 and my dr told me then that I needed to get my daughter checked for BP instead of ADHD. He said that it is often to miss diagnose ADHD, if there is a family history of depression and other things along that line. And now My ex and I have joint custody ( she lives with him) and He will not go to get her examined. Iam afaid that she may be taking the wrong meds if this is the case. Has anybody else heard of this??
