Addison's Disease Support Group
Addison's disease (also known as chronic adrenal insufficiency, or hypocortisolism) is a rare endocrine disorder. It is estimated that it affects about 1 to 2 in 100,000 people. It occurs when the adrenal glands, seated above the kidneys, fail to produce enough of the hormone cortisol and, sometimes, the hormone aldosterone
Good Luck!

Someone else wrote about pre-existing conditions no longer applying, but they sure seem to!
Once you receive the contacts for an Ins Co, ask for the names of organizations, for help with premium payment assistance. I know of 3, but there may be more:
1. Caring Voice Coalition 888-267-1440 *
2. Health Wellness Foundation 800-675-8416
3. Patient Svcs. Inc 800-366-7741
I do not understand why this pre-existing issue remains, given the so-called Healthcare Reform, but it certainly does! I'm hearing this more & more. Out of curiosity, why was she dropped? There must be an appeals process, for reasons other than non-payment. If the basis was due to treatment costs, that is a violation, on many levels.
I completely agree with SharonHanson. We absolutely need to be heard. Corporations must not dictate, nor interfere with access to quality medical care, a Human Right. As a side note, it is the Pharmacy Companies mandating Health Ins. Eligibility AND dictating Governmental decisions.

I lost my insurance 15 years ago and now am insured through the federal Pre-existing Conditions Insurance Plan (PCIP.gov) where I am able to purchase insurance despite the AD diagnosis.
This is outrageous and I encourage you to also contact your state insurance board along with the congress person.... and you can call 1-866-717-5826 (PCIP) and talk to them.
This post has gotten me agitated, I encourage everyone to become proactive politically... the House of Representatives desire changes to privatize all health care... even medicare. We already have privatized medical care.. and competition has not served anyone well.... except the insurance companies!
Good luck and please keep us posted.
