Hi, are there any people on here that go to Barts. and are under Professor Grossman, He is now at Oxford, just wondered if anyb ody was going with him.

Hi Spiegal

Is he replacing Prof John Wass? Prof Wass (who was my consultant) retired from his NHS work in 2010 and it seemed to be taking an age to get a permanent senior replacement for him. I was wondering if they were ever going to replace him!

If so, it is good news for me.

Well I think so, but Professor Grossman is of a certain age, and I actually thought he was retiring altogether. Maybe somebody will know, but I was told that one could transfer over with him.

I'm not under Professor Grossman but have had a consultation with him as he was running the study for the 'new' drug and wondered if I wanted to be included on the trial,when I was first diagnosed.

He is highly experienced and treats Spiegal's daughter. He is of a certain age as well, so retirement might be something to consider if you move across.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
