This community is dedicated to helping members recover from accidents and unexpected events that have caused emotional and/or physical distress. Some examples of accidents that can cause long-term stress include: Aircraft Accidents, Bicycle Accidents, Car and Motorcycle Accidents, Train accidents, Nuclear accidents, Ship accidents, Workplace accidents.
OUR NIGHTMARE 2008
I will never forget the night the police knocked on my door,
What had happened to my daughter I just wasnt sure.
They told us to hurry as fast as we can
That my first born child had been life flighted to Shands.
I fell to my knees, praying that this was a bad dream
And then called my mother, unable to talk only to scream.
All we knew was there had been a very bad wreck
I prayed to God as we rushed to the hospital to check.
The Doctors told us there were many broken bones
And they had to do emergency surgery & it would be a long time before Amber could go home.
I went to my child who was on life support & held her hand tight
Praying for god to save her, that this just wasnt right.
Her boyfriend Travis who was first pronounced dead
Had taken some serious injuries causing damage to his head.
These kids are too young to have their life end like this
So I prayed some more as I gave Amber a Kiss.
Waiting and praying was all I was able to do
Begging god to let it be me instead of you!
The struggles were many, the days were very long
I know it would take a lot of time for you to once again become strong.
The Police and doctors said you both were miracles that they just couldnt explain
That God was the one who saved both your lives that night in the rain
I thank him everyday for allowing you to stay on this earth with me
Because if we didnt have you Amber just imagine how empty our lives would be
