Things are a little quiet around here so I thought I would liven things up with controversial an observation I have made about AA.
I recognized early on that that were two separate schools of thought within AA; Old-school vs. New-school. Old-school AA is characterized by those who use the 12 step program and spiritual tools to stay sober. New-school is characterized by those who use meetings and psychological tips&tricks to stay sober.
I have no doubt that this division exists in my area but donât know how wide spread it is.
I have also noticed that those who use New-school AA seem to relapse at a much higher rate than those using Old-school AA (at least 10 to 1).
Her is my question â has anyone else noticed this in their area?
