Give Us Time
Give time time are you crazy?
I must change now, I am not lazy
I want to do it all today
That is if this is the better way
Insanity was truly a part of me
I knew what I needed was recovery
I want it all right from the start
Hurry up, my life is falling apart
What do you mean
It does not work that way
How much do I need to pay
Here is a hundred
Do you now want more
Recovery is what I am here for
I am ready to recover
I will pay the price
All you folks in AA are so nice
Keep coming back is all you would say
I must stop for more than just one day
Seems funny now
That was years ago
By Gods grace
I finally know
You must surrender to win
Money will not buy your way in
Our doors are open to everyone
Give time time
In recovery our work is never done
Our doors are always I have come to know
We are free if we just let go
Give time time are you crazy?
I must change now, I am not lazy
I want to do it all today
That is if this is the better way
Insanity was truly a part of me
I knew what I needed was recovery
I want it all right from the start

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
I remember not too long ago thinking "I stopped drinking, why aren't I better?" and then I remembered that little mantra we all know, "keep coming back, IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT" and I realized, working it isn't just walking to a meeting, setting up, making coffee, listening and sharing, it's working the steps to find out why you drank in the first place.
I'm finally climbing down off that pink cloud, after nearly a year with no booze. And your post just reinforced what I need to do next.
Thanks ta2bill...and btw...GREAT NAME!!!
Now if you just put that same effort in the Steps as they are written, Hahaha, WOW, you aint seen nothin yet!! Finding out why we drank is not the only result of working the steps, Having had a Spiritual Awakening as (THE) result of working these Steps is will show you much more than that brother, it will rocket you into a fourth demension!!!
I spent along time in AA dying and trying to hang on to my chair, looking all around for the answer to how it works, everyone read it, but no one talked about it with great clarity and experinence.
I find out 20 years later the answer was in my back pocket the whole time!!! Godbless you,,,
Ma'at, you are 100% correct with your assessment! A pink cloud is a false sense of security, and with TRUE God's Grace, we have everything we need, therefore no need for false anything!
Keep up the good work, and remember........LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!

It is a journey not a destination! enjoy it - one day at a time, remember our adversity brings us the most growth!
