Implanted kids are discouraged to sign, but recently our 3 year old son started showing more interest in sign and we're leaning in that direction. I just can't continue on without any form of language. We're in language limbo--lots of tantrums and frustration.

Our son is just now showing interest in signs. He has about 20 signs. It's discouraged by the cochlear implant specialists, but for us, it's a matter of daily survival.

I prefer sign language. It is great. Of course people have to know sign but if they do, I am a happy camper.
