we use a lot of it. so his sisters can talk to him and he will eventually tell us what he wants. he knows what we say but we wont repeat it yet.

Learned sign at age 17. Was raised orally & mainstreamed in public schools. Never went to a deaf scholl in my LIFE until I hit Gally..... :) PROUD TO BE DEAF and part of the DEAF community.

Definitely worked for me. In my own opinion i think sign language is the best channel for communication with the deaf. There is a structure and it is a language.
