On Wednesday (day 5)the culture taken on Monday (day 3) showed it was indeed Staph, MRSA. He was admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics, Vancomycin. This is given every 12 hours. The swelling on his upper lip/mouth is growing worse, as is the pain. His speech is not readily understood,due to swelling. And eating is difficult. There is room on the R side of mouth to insert a straw.

My son had this for 2 weeks for his port infection in Sept 06, it worked.

I'm on it right now and have been for 3 months. Of course i'm allergic to it and have to take IV Benadryl with it.

By I.V. it took a couple of months but I didnt loose any limbs

gets red man syndrome, needs benedryl with it

Worked due to a severe foot infection.

I was also released hone on Zyvox for 10 days. Both treatments seemd to work.

iv antibiotics for infection. made me nauseous and lost appetite. also i have small veins, it burned going in, even on a slow drip.
