I take large doses of Valtrex on a daily basis as a preventative. I broke through at 1 gram (which had been my maintenance dose since this whole mess started) and I am now on 3 grams a day (anything less and they come back).Obviously since I have had 5 more bouts since I began the preventative it only works so well. But I believe it would have been worse otherwise... much worse.

I started valtrex when I was diagnosed 3/7/08 and I healed pretty fast. I stopped because I don't have a refill.Im still healed from first outbreak.
