Valaciclovir or valacyclovir is an antiviral drug used in the management of herpes simplex and herpes zoster (shingles). It is a prodrug, being converted in vivo to aciclovir. It is marketed by GlaxoSmithKline under the trade name Valtrex. more at Wikipedia

I dont take it all the time because i'm afraid of getting immune to it. But if i take it when i feel like i'm gonna have a break out it shortens the time of the outbreak.
