Precautions to keep in mind

Your doctor will want to check your progress 3 months after the first injection, 6 months after the first injection, and every 6 months after that.

If you are taking interferon beta (e.g., Avonex, Betaseron, Rebif) or azathioprine (e.g., Imuran), you should not take natalizumab.

Other medicines—Do not take other medicines unless they have been discussed with your doctor. This includes prescription or non-prescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) medicines and herbal or vitamin supplements.

If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

Avoid getting any immunizations (vaccines) unless they are approved by your doctor.
