Timoptic (timolol maleate) is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker. Timoptic ophthalmic preparations are used to treat open-angle and occasionally secondary glaucoma by reducing aqueous humour production through blockade of the beta receptors on the ciliary epithelium.
