Carbamazepine is used to control some types of seizures in the treatment of epilepsy. It is also used to relieve pain due to trigeminal neuralgia (tic douloureux). Worked very well after only one pill. Neurontin and Topomax did not work for me. Both gave me memory lost, slur speech, difficulty to concentrate. Been on Tegretol for over a month and have not experienced any side effect. Literally pain free now. Doc prescribed 200mg twice a day, but i only take it once at bedtime and only as needed in the morning.

seems to have been the best long term, but I think my dosage needs adjusted or I need to go back to Lithium. Casuses short term memory loss nad impairs the ability to focus.
