Taxotere Reviews
Working / Worked
Doctor switched to Taxotere because of neuropathy in my feet and hands. I also must have a Neulasta injection a day afterward. The Neulasta along with the Taxotere & Carboplatin make me very ill. Side effects for the first 2-3 days are nausea and a lot of joint pain. It's difficult to do much of anything. It then wears off slowly & after 7 days I'm starting to feel better.
Working / Worked
Horrible. Had severe pain day after treatment. They said I should not be hurting but I continued with feeling like I was going to die and was later diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy which has caused severe problems with pain and daily living. Would not have had it if I knew what I know now. They should have stopped it once I started hurting so bad.
Working / Worked
Worked. 1st treatment was Taxol; I had immediate Level 10 pain in lower back, flushed red and hot all over, had to pant very fast; nurses ran in, stopped the IV, gave me more Benedryl, and continued at a much slower rate. Then they switched me to Taxotere. That and the slower rate caused a minor reaction the 2nd time, and none thereafter. Side effects: extreme fatigue, finger- and toenails chalky inside and ridgy outside, splotched with red; hair loss, of course.

It worked.

Taxotere was pretty rough but I got through it. Low white counts and ended up in hospital. But that was my oncologist fault! Had alot of aches and pains while on it and was extremly tired all the time. It was hard to do much. Did not want to eat, food tasted awful. Got a few black finger and toenails and eventually fell off. Sore mouth at times, & headaches.

shrank my tumor more than the doctors hoped! YEAH
