If I am in that SI mode, and I happen to be giving myself a tattoo (I am also a tattooist) then I find it to be calming in a sense. The only problem is, when I get into that "state of mind" my tattoo machine generally isn't right beside me - as my self injurys are usually without thought and happen instantaneously.... to put it bluntly - I snap.
