about 3 weeks into taking the Methimazole my son had a possible alergic reaction (severe hives and some joint swelling) so endo said to stop immediately, which we did. He has been off the Methimazole for 2.5 weeks at this point.

Working / Worked
I used Methimazole to treat my hypothyroidism for nearly 2 years, then through consultation with my Endocrinologist, I discontinued the treatment to determine if there was an impact to my thyroid levels. My next blood test a month or so later indicated that my thyroid levels were increasing which lead to a more definitive diagnosis of Grave's disease and then lead me to treatment with Radioactive Iodine. I didn't have any significant or negative side effects from the Tapezole therapy.
