Since 25 July 2014 when 75mg metoprolol failed to terminate an AF episode, an initial 300mg Flecainide followed by 50mg twice a day has kept me in NSR. It does seem to occasionally make me feel a little tired but the side effects are markedly less than the 50mg metoprolol. I take it after breakfast and after dinner.

side effects
seems to be keeping the heart in a good rhythm

My son takes this 3x per day
low dosage 50 mg happy with results
Flecainide 100mg twice daily was added after I wore a 30 day event monitor for one day! Its just a cooincidence that it showed up one day after I started wearing it but hey I didnt have to wear it again after that! LOL. It was clear that I now need rhythm control on top of the rate control. I havent felt my heart at all!....well until I lay down. Especially on my left side. But its just NSR. It no longer sets off my heart into AFib! Yay!

better than sotalol ...well for me anyways
The only drug that seems to make a difference lately Ive been directed to double dosage to 100mg daily.
Worked perfectly until recently
Reduced episodes from once every 2 to 3 days to 3 breakthrough episodes in the last year. No problem with side effects.
