It's working for ME working with my friends and family, but HE won't participate. He says it always ends up the same, and even just a discussion he perceives as a vicious argument.
talked a lot with friends and family after i left the abusive situation.
Talking helps in getting my frustration out. However, it does nothing for the underlying cause.

Talking to my fiance as much as possible. Writing letters every day. Praying...

I talk to my fiancee about my blood family treating me the way they do and it is helpful. He helps me to understand that it is not my fault that I am treated the way I am. That I am not like them. I am a mother and would never treat my kids the way I've been treated, but I'm still hurt by the way my "family" treats me.

I have talked to my fiancee about it and it has helped a lot. I have not cut myself in over a year and i really don't remember the last time I punched a wall. But I do often have the desire to cut myself still.
