Ive told friends about doing this. I also talk to my dad sometimes when I have urges. It helps to get out of my head for a few minutes.

this also helps but like with friends it only works when they are there. if they aren't there it is worse.

THIS REALLY HELPED ME IN THE VERY FIRST DAYS.I TRIED TO DO THE ENCOURAGING BEFORE PPLE EVEN SPOKE.THERE'S A VERY HUGE GULF IN MY LIFE,AND I GET IRRITATED AT SO MANY THINGS AROUND

I have one friend that I could simply not live without. She helps talk me back to sane when I feel insane.

Outpatient therapy and writing to a friend have been *very* helpful to me.
My friends and Family have been incredibly supportive.
Even if it doesn't benefit the other person, it helps to get your ideas on the table.
I just started telling friends and family about what my husband does. I can't stay silent anymore.
