I tried this medication. I noticed a higher blood sugar taking it. It made me suicidal shortly after taking it and I had to be hospitalized as a result. Not good at all.

I have just started week 3 of Symbyax.I am beyond hopeful!I feel like "me" again~like I was sitting in a dark room,and someone FINALLY turned the lights on.I feel centered,happy,energetic,and I sleep well at night(without the chronic nightmares I've had for years).I'm afraid to get too excited though,because I've been on just about everything else with little or no success. So far,Symbyax has completely changed my life,outlook,and mood(s)for the better~like night and day!

As of early 2008, I've been on Symbyax (3mg/25mg). For the most part, it's been a miracle drug. It's calmed the two biggest problems I have: mood swings and suicidal thoughts. Unfortunately because I'm bipolar, I hit a plateau within a few months of taking Symbyax. Because of this, I have to take a break from it and I become very vulnerable and fragile. My doctors have yet to discover a drug that will substitute Symbyax during my plateau.
