I am presently on suboxone, and have been using it the whole 16 months of being "clean". I also used it in the past, but would discontinue use of it durring relapses. I believe this medication works well.
My son was in a suboxone treatment program and quit after 3 weeks because his girlfriend did not want to stop using Heroin.
